Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

RatePeek — Currency Widget (“RatePeek,” “the app,” “we,” or “us”) is developed by Edgar Garcia. Questions about this policy can be sent to edr9719@outlook.com.

2. Information RatePeek does not collect

RatePeek does not require an account and does not collect names, email addresses, precise location, contacts, advertising identifiers, browsing history, payment-card details, or conversion amounts through the app. We do not use advertising, analytics, telemetry, or third-party tracking SDKs.

3. Information stored on your device

The app stores the following information locally so its features and widgets can work:

• selected home, source, and destination currencies;
• saved trips, favorites, and display preferences;
• cached exchange rates and their update dates;
• the active trip used by RatePeek widgets; and
• a local snapshot of Premium entitlement status.

This information is kept in the app’s local storage and shared App Group container for the app and its widget extension. RatePeek does not operate a server that receives this information. Device backups and restoration are controlled by your Apple and device settings.

4. Exchange-rate requests

RatePeek retrieves currency information and reference exchange rates from Frankfurter. Requests contain the currency codes needed to return a rate, such as USD and VND. RatePeek does not send your entered amount, trip name, favorites, or other locally saved content to Frankfurter.

Like most internet services, Frankfurter and its hosting providers may receive technical request information such as an IP address and request time. Their handling of that information is outside RatePeek’s control.

5. Purchases

RatePeek Premium is processed by Apple through StoreKit. Apple handles billing, payment information, purchase history, refunds, and Apple Account authentication. RatePeek receives only the product and entitlement information needed to unlock or restore Premium features. We never receive your full payment-card details.

6. Clipboard access

RatePeek accesses the clipboard only when you choose a paste action and writes to it only when you choose a copy action. Clipboard contents are processed on your device and are not sent to us.

7. Support communications

If you email us, we receive the email address, message, and any information you voluntarily include. We use it only to respond, troubleshoot, prevent abuse, and maintain necessary support records. Do not send financial, payment, identity, or other sensitive information.

8. This website

This support website does not intentionally use cookies, advertising, or analytics. It is hosted by GitHub Pages, so GitHub may process standard network and server-log information under the GitHub General Privacy Statement.

9. Children’s privacy

RatePeek is not designed to collect personal information from children, and the app does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.

10. Security and retention

Local app data is protected by the security features of iOS and your device. Support emails are retained only as long as reasonably necessary to provide support, comply with legal obligations, and resolve disputes.

11. Your choices

You can edit or delete saved trips and favorites in RatePeek. You can remove locally stored app data by deleting the app, subject to device backups managed through your Apple settings. You may ask us to delete a support conversation by emailing the address below, unless retention is legally required.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when RatePeek’s features or legal obligations change. The effective date at the top will identify the latest version. Material changes will be communicated through the app or this website when appropriate.
